About Harmony Haus!

Church Street Studios, a nearly 100-year-old school building, became St. John’s daycare in 1991 and operated as such until January 2024. Located on a peaceful 1+ acre corner parcel in downtown Waynesville, it is just a 5-minute walk from Main Street. The property offers beautiful mountain views, both inside and out, especially from the 6,900 square-foot basketball court- perfect for markets, events, and filling the need for more outdoor third spaces in Waynesville.

We are transforming this well-known building into a vibrant community hub where makers, artists, small businesses, locals, and visitors can connect and grow. We are passionate about preserving the building’s heritage by practicing adaptive reuse while creating functional spaces for today’s world. The project aims to bridge the gap between Main Street and Frog Level, providing a cohesive and engaging walking journey about town for both visitors and locals. It will help bolster the local creative economy by providing space for small businesses, addressing a major hurdle in local business growth. 

We are currently undergoing a brief refresh of the building. The project emphasizes enhancements, such as fresh paint, lighting, landscaping, and repair work, rather than invasive demolition and construction. These improvements will create a welcoming environment for community engagement. Our goal is to start lease-up conversations and opportunities soon.
